Rock Candy Desert . . .

[aka] a merging of pop art and land art

No . . . it’s not a typo !

but rather, a feast for the eyes . . .um . . . kinda like this . . . except . . . it’s the brainchild of artist Ugo Rondinone . . . his latest installation called Seven Magic Mountains is, as he states, ” . . . a merging of Pop Art and Land Art, of thresh-holds and crossings, of seclusion and gatherings . . .”

think GIANT rock candy sticks dropped in the middle of nowhere . . .

These juxtapositions, standing 30ish feet high, are located 10ish miles south of Las Vegas and is a must see (or rather, MUST EXPERIENCE) destination for me . . .

but hurry . . . POOF it all goes away May 2018 . . .

*UPDATE – due to its success, the installation will remain on view through the end of 2018.
